For our meeting this week, Teamdragon focused on the collection and gathering of our materials for our Arduino powered IR silly string shooter.

Since there were no more Arduino shields left to check out of the lab, we ordered one from www.adafruit.com.  We were able to check out a servo motor which will be utilized to give extra functionality to the Arduino circuit board.  Addionally, we checked out a battery pack which we may or may not use.  Once we get these two items we should have all necessary materials to complete the project.

We utilized coat hanger wire as our trigger for the shooter but ran into difficulty since we did not have a pliers or a similar tool to get the correct amount of bend in the wire.  Chris Lee will try to bring the hanger home and get the desired angles on it before our next meeting.  Ryan Brown brought the zip ties which we will utilize as a stabilization mechanism for the servo motor and wire hanger.

The main challenge for this project will be getting the trigger to act in sync with the silly string lever to form a repeating motion at 90 degrees once triggered by the IR sensor.

The servo motor, silly string shooter, IR sensor, and circuit will act as the skeleton of the device and once we have this operating reliably we will customize an outer body from which the silly string will shoot from.

The goal for our next meeting will be to develop a sketch that will give the desired timing, 90 degree angle, and consistent motion for our trigger acting on the silly string button.

Nov 18th TeamDragon Meeting

For our meeting this week we created a list of materials we will need:

-silly string shooters
-servo motor
-wire coat hangers
-zip ties
-screwdrivers
-Arduino Kit
-ruler
-sharpie marker
-stuffed animal

We split up these evenly among us.

Also, we discussed the specifics of how to set up our silly string shooter and how to implement the servo motor with the arduino kit to accomplish our objectives.  We figured a found some template codes we can use to power our project.

Our goals for our next meeting will be meet in the lab to assemble the materials,  begin putting them together, begin creating the necessary code.
